For me (Jim Falk - the site editor) this machine has particular sentimental importance.  It is the same model Facit calculator that I was lent as a 13 year old boy from an academic at Melbourne University to assist me in performing the many statistical calculations that I needed to complete my project "Pilot Experiments in Memory" for the Science Talent Search, which I submitted a year later in 1960.  After a year of this machine helping me on hundreds of calculations, it gained a special place in my heart.  When I saw a Facit calculator advertised on ebay (not this one, which came a few years later in December 2014, but the [[Site.Facit1945|Facit Model S pinwheel calculator]] elsewhere in this collection), I felt I had to get it. And also that was the beginning of this collection.
