Der Zeitermittler (“The time investigator”)

This post-war nomograph like the Bloch SchnellKalkulator from several decades before used principles of nomography to solve calculating problems associated with machine cutting tools. The device is made of more contemporary materials than the robust Schnellkalulator of 1924, and has less scales. Nevertheless it provided a simplified approach to estimating the unknown in an equation (on the third scale, by fixing the line between the other two scales) without the skills necessary to use a slide rule and actually evaluate the equation itself by substitution of variables and corresponding arithmetic operations.
