Books
- The most comprehensive source of information about the history and construction of these wonderful gramophones is provided in: Francis James, The E.M.G. Story, Old Bakehouse Publications, Gwent, UK, November 1998. The book may be purchased from amazon.com or, it appears, (more cheaply) from Chunny - via his GramophoneMuseum website, or possibly even from the publisher if they still have it in print.
Websites
- The Talking Machine Forum (British and European Machines offers an ongoing forum for E.M.G. collectors, many of whom are extremely expert, to exchange views and information. It is an invaluable resource.
- The Gramophone Collecting Forum also carries expert commentary]], replacing in 2011 earlier expert commentary on The International Gramophone Forum - EMG and Expert Handmade Gramophones which for technical reasons had to be archived. The commentary has a notable preference for the products of the competing Expert Handmade Gramophones Company (established by Mr E.M. Ginn in 1930, after he left the E.M.G. company).
- The Wikipedia entry on E.M.G. Hand-made Gramophones provides a useful summary, seemingly largely extracted from the work by Francis (“Frank”) James.
- Ian Calderbank (UK)’s website provides useful relevant information.
