1948: CURTA TYPE 1 earliest model calculator serial #5424 (~July 1948)
This is the (rare) earliest version of the Curta Model 1, produced only a year after production began (in 1947). In this earliest model the slider knobs were made from steel rods rather than the later plastic handles. This machine has its metal box and is in mint condition - which is extraordinary given its age.
