1910–1920s Comptator, 9 column

A rod rack mechanism adder. Clearance knob on right. Originally manufactured by Schubert & Salzer, Maschinenfabrik, A. G . Chemnitz, Sa., the Comptator was after1922 manufactured by Hans Sabielny, Dresden. The design is similar, although somewhat improved, to the Rapid Computer Adding Machine (1890).

This Comptator bears the name plate of its owner “Otto Keidell of Otto Keidel’ Magdeburg Ludottstr. 7 Fernruf (Long Distance) 6464”.
