This beautiful EMG Mark IX gramophone (number 2048) was purchased by William Berndt with the assistance of Graham Rankin from John and Carrie Michaud. It was originally owned by Carrie’s father, A.L. Wehling. Initially the sound box was not working. However, William wrote (June 2017): I am happy to report that I have the original 2-spring soundbox operating beautifully, and did some conservative restoration to the horn. I have also included a photo of the Garrard 201B/1 transcription induction motor.”
