I was very saddened to hear of Sue’s passing. I first met Sue at UNSW at various university events. We lost touch when she came to UTS and I went on to UNSW Asia. Science/Engineering and Arts academics often don’t get a lot of opportunity to keep meeting! However, I was very pleased to meet her again at UTS when I became Dean of Science and she was DVC(Research). It was too short a time, but I felt we had a very good and fruitful interaction in trying to build Science up.
She was always a very positive and active person, full of vigour and life. I shall always remember her quick smile and outgoing attitude.
