Census 1881 shows him as Merchant, born Prussia and not a British subject. Age taken from census of 1881.I believe this should read 'naturalised British subject', or at least this is how it reads in the census of 1901. They were then living at no 6 Pembridge Villas (RG13/22 page 32), parish of St Peter at Bayswater, Kensington.
