The Commonwealth War Graves Commission lists him as Second Lieutenant Lance Will Lewis, 7th Bn, King's Royal Rifle Corps, Attd. Machine Gun Corps (Inf), who died aged 24, on Wednesday 9 August 1916. He was B.A., Oxford. NS Cohen believes that he was born in 1889, but if the War Grave is correct it should be 1892.
