Left England with his uncle in about 1848. They first went to New Zealand but in 1851 Emanuel left New Zealand and came to Sydney. A few years after Emanuel and Esther married they settled on the south coast of Sydney, at Bombala They had a large family ( Herbert, Sarah, Amelia, Alfred, Arthur, Sydney, Percy, Septimus and Octavius plus two children who died) They were very active and well respected members of the community. Emanuel died in Nov 1901 and Esther died in Jan, 1907. Both are buried in Bombala,NSW.1003
