The Flegeltaub family hailed from an area [and probably the city too] of Suwalki, Russian Poland. Around 1854 / 1855, Zorach Flegeltaub took his family to Liverpool, possibly landed first at Bristol but we have much yet to explore on this. We do however know that the family ended up in Liverpool where many were married. Various children got married there in the early 1860s and five of the possible nine children came down to Melbourne, pretty much settling in Ballarat, Stawell [Pleasant Creek] and Bendigo. 1389
