Notes for Noah WACHSMANN
(edited) note from Carol Baird:

Laurahuette is now part of Siemianowice, Katowice, Poland. Noah Wachsmann was a merchant.  He lived in Przelaika, Kattowitz, Upper Silesia, Germany now Przelajka, Katowice, Slask, Poland. Death rec. from Beuthen FHL #1418032 which said he died at 7 pm of "chronischen hirnleiden" (chronic brain disease or suffering which perhaps was the then current description of Alzheimer's?) - this confirmed his age as 62 in 1854.   Was he the "uncle" (mentioned in Walther Wachsmann's letter) who formerly had a candy factory in Stettin?  Jewish name was presumably Noah. Perhaps he was really the brother of Hirschel and NOT his son because of the dates of both births and the fact that Noa had a son, Pincus, which could have been the name of Noa's father (as well as Hirschel's).  JRI-Poland database of deaths from Bytom, registration date 1854, film # 1418032, line 21:  born abt. 1792, died at age 62 on 19 July 1854 in Bytom where it was registered, but I think he died in Siemianowitz (Siemianowice, PO now).701
