Notes for Deborah McNICOLL
Note: Deborah was James Falk's close friend from about the age of 3 to 10. That friendship was formed at the kindergarten attached to the church on the corner of Malvern and Burke roads in Gardiner, Melbourne which they both attended. The friendship led to Barbara and David Falk buying a portion of the McNicoll's property with a cottage on it at Mt. Macedon as a holiday cottage. As this family tree shows, in point of fact the two friends, Deborah and James, were fifth cousins.
There are two trails through the family tree connecting Jim Falk and Deborah McNicol:
(i) Henry Cohen's son Joseph married Mary Hart, daughter of Phoebe Moses and Asher Hart. Phoebe Moses’ brother Abraham Moses married Leah Shannon. They produced Julia Moses. She married Elias Moses. They produced Deborah Moses, who produced Kate Moses who married the famous Theodore Fink, who in turn produced Marjorie Fink who married Walter Timmins. They produced Ruth Timmins who married Alan McNicol producing Deborah.
(ii) Theodore Fink and Kate Moses also produced Roland Fink who married Doris Derham. They produced Meryl Fink who married Sir Edward Cohen, Jim Falk's uncle.
Deborah McNicoll’s mother Ruth and Adrian Cohen’s mother Meryl were, of course, first cousins.
