“I am a Hidden Child, because after my Father was arrested Oct. 2, 1942 in Berlin, my Mother "escaped" with me to Holland.  She was not aware that it was occupied already.  We were seperated right away by the Underground who placed us into hiding.  I was in many places, arrested and put into the Creche in Amsterdam, rescued from there (one of only 600 who were saved).  From there I went into hiding on a farm near Nijmegen, near the Belgian border.  My Mother "found" me again and we came to US as DPs Feb. 9, 1949. Lived in St. Louis, Mo. for 2 years, Portland, Or. for 2 years, the rest in Seattle until 16 years ago when I came to Canada.”

“I have had many jobs, but mostly people oriented.  My Israeli cousin Miriam and I have had our own Israeli Import Shop here in Vancouver for 11 years.  Presently I am the buyer/manager of a fulltime gift shop at our Synagogue, the largest in the entire Northwest.
I am a longtime speaker about the Shoah, having started about 1975.  I mostly speak to elemenatary through high school age students at the schools directly or at annual symposiums as well as regularly to groups coming to exhibits to the Holocaust Centre here. I'm also a writer, mostly related to my personal experiences during those years, and I also like to write non-rhyming poetry. I have not been published exclusively, but I am listed in some compilations.”649
